Manufacturing - Belgium

Roger & Roger

Roger & Roger, owned by the West Flanders Dick family, is a rapidly growing producer of potato snacks. From Moeskroen, the company distributes and exports potato chips for the private label market to some twenty countries. Started in 1999, the company now has over 250 employees.

As part of this growth, it was decided to invest in automating the storage of finished products. For the control of this automation and the integration with the existing ERP it was decided to abandon the existing WMS (Manhattan) and to replace it with a new WMS solution Dynaman with C&W as implementation partner.

Project description

For this project, Roger & Roger chose an advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS), Dynaman, with C&W as their implementation partner. This new system replaced their previous WMS and was seamlessly integrated with their ERP platform AXAPTA from Navision, with the C&W Supply Connector providing data exchange between the systems. This move paved the way for more efficient inventory management and logistics flow, crucial for their operations in the private label market.

Within Roger & Roger's logistics chain, various automation techniques are used. Their warehouse includes two high bay warehouses, one of which is fully automated with a capacity of 26,000 pallets. With the use of cranes, shuttles and monorails, both raw materials and finished goods can be stored and distributed quickly and efficiently. The WMS also provides full tracking and tracing at lot and shelf life (THT) level, which is essential for food safety and quality control of their products. Cross-docking, where products go directly from production to shipment, also contributes to a streamlined process.

In addition to improved storage capacity, the new system also simplifies the management of inbound and outbound flows. C&W's Dock & Yard management visualizes loading and unloading operations and provides drag-and-drop functionality for efficient planning. This integration and automation of their processes allows Roger & Roger not only to optimize their inventory management, but also to respond more flexibly to their customers' demands, which is essential in a competitive market such as the food industry.
